Chakra Workshop in Dubai: What Does an Evening Session for JLT Residents Cover?

Dr S Pujah · 3 November 2026

Calm evening chakra workshop setting with seven coloured lotus symbols, for residents of JLT, Dubai

A chakra workshop in Dubai is a guided group session where you learn the seven chakras, the petals of each one and simple daily practices to work with them. For people living or working in JLT, an evening format suits best: you arrive after work, settle, learn, practise and leave with a short routine you can keep at home.

Jumeirah Lakes Towers is a neighbourhood of clusters around artificial lakes, where many people live in one tower and work in the next. Days are full, the metro is a few minutes away, and evenings are often the only quiet time. That rhythm shapes how a chakra workshop works best for JLT residents.

Why an evening chakra workshop suits JLT life

Life in JLT has a few patterns that make an evening session a good fit:

  • Short commutes, long screen days. Many residents walk to an office in the DMCC free zone or take the metro one or two stops. The commute is short, but the working day is long and spent mostly at a screen.
  • Apartment living. Most homes in JLT are apartments in towers. Space for practice at home is often a corner of the living room or a balcony, so you need practices that fit a small space.
  • A walkable neighbourhood in the cooler months. From November to March, the lake promenades are pleasant after sunset. A short walk before or after a workshop helps the body settle.
  • International neighbours. JLT is home to people from many countries. A chakra workshop is taught in clear English and needs no prior knowledge or belief system.

What a chakra workshop covers

Each workshop with Dr S Pujah follows a simple structure, so beginners can follow it and returning participants can go deeper:

  1. Arrival and breath. A few minutes of slow breathing to move from work mode into a calmer state.
  2. The seven chakras. Root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and crown: where each is felt in the body and what qualities it is linked with in the yogic tradition.
  3. The petals of each chakra. In traditional texts each chakra is pictured as a lotus with a set number of petals: four at the root, six at the sacral, ten at the solar plexus, twelve at the heart, sixteen at the throat, two at the third eye and a thousand at the crown. Learning the petals gives you a clear, visual map for practice.
  4. Guided practice. Sound, breath and visualisation for one or two chakras, chosen for the group that evening.
  5. Your home routine. A five to ten minute practice you can do in an apartment, on a balcony or before sleep.

The workshop is a space for awareness and self-practice. It is not medical care and does not replace advice from a doctor or other qualified professional.

Bringing chakra practice into a JLT apartment

The most common question after a workshop is how to keep going at home. In a tower apartment, a few small choices help:

  • Choose one fixed spot. A corner with a mat or cushion, away from the television and work desk, tells your mind it is time to pause.
  • Work with the air conditioning, not against it. Dubai homes run cool air for much of the year. Keep a light shawl nearby so you stay comfortable while sitting still.
  • Use natural light. Many JLT apartments face the lakes or the Marina skyline. Sitting near the window at sunrise or sunset is a simple way to begin.
  • Keep sound gentle. Tower walls carry sound, so humming and soft chanting work better than loud mantra, and they still help you focus on the throat and heart areas.

How to prepare for your first session

You do not need any experience. A little preparation makes the evening easier:

  • wear loose, comfortable clothes;
  • eat lightly an hour or two before;
  • bring water and a small notebook;
  • switch your phone to silent for the full session;
  • if you are coming straight from the office, leave ten minutes early so you are not rushing.

If you prefer to learn at home first, Dr S Pujah's books on the chakras and their petals are listed on the books page, and many people read one before joining a workshop.

In person in Dubai, or online from JLT

Dr S Pujah offers chakra workshops and sessions in person in Dubai and online, so JLT residents can choose what suits their week. Some people join in person for the group energy; others prefer to join online from their own apartment, especially on weeknights. A simple first step this week

Before you book, try this short practice on any evening. Sit comfortably, close your eyes and take five slow breaths. Bring your attention to the base of the spine and picture a small lotus with four petals. Stay with it for one minute. Then move your attention to the centre of the chest and picture twelve petals opening slowly. Notice how you feel. This two-minute exercise is a small taste of what a full workshop explores in more depth.

Dr S Pujah works with clients in person in JLT and across Dubai, and online across the UAE, the GCC and worldwide.
